Favron Enterprises Ltd. is a family owned and operated placer mine located in Dawson City, Yukon. We are committed to responsible, sustainable and progressive placer mining, and are looking to document and showcase our daily operations to a broader audience. We are looking for a skilled Videographer & Social Media Content Creator to film, edit, and produce inspiring and engaging videos that highlights our family-based operation We would like to capture our mining operation from exploration through production and onto reclamation. This exciting opportunity is geared towards the right person who wants to be a part of a growing organization, is up for an adventure, and loves the outdoors.
We are looking for a seasonal full-time employee that would start work end of May/ early June and stay until end of October. This person would also need to be willing to help around the placer mine, mostly learning to operate an articulated rock-truck and helping with camp duties. Experience in a construction industry or cooking and hospitality would be helpful.
Tasks would include
Film, edit, and produce videos for distribution on social media platforms, incorporating music, graphics and effects.
Film using drone, gopro, and other appropriate devices
Advise on types of systems and filming devices needed to enhance the end product
Conduct short, on-screen interviews with employees and visitors
Use a wide variety of still shots and video that are pre-existing to develop videos from past seasons
Utilize and incorporate company knowledge to produce videos inline with company goals
Work 12 hrs a day, 6 days a week, roughly 50% of time would be spent working in the field learning then operating heavy equipment
Keeping equipment clean and tidy
Attention to detail ensuring machines are in good shape and well taken care of
Requirements
Hard working and energetic
Positive attitude, easy going and capable of getting along with others in a close setting
Willing to learn and try new things that might be outside of past experiences (i.e learning to operate, pressure wash, get dirty)
Creative individual that can produce excellent work inline with the guidance given
Have a solid working knowledge of relevant social media platforms
Strong filming and editing skills
Be able to provide some examples of past work, either from an education setting or personal interests
Live in a camp outside of Dawson City for the season May to October
