Memorial University of Newfoundland are looking for a highly skilled Technologist to serve as a Project Coordinator in the Facilities Engineering and Development division of the Department of Facilities Management. The post will involve technical writing and construction administration tasks.



The Project Coordinator, who reports to the Manager of Minor Capital Projects, will carry out projects that involve initiating, developing, and planning project activities. Responsibilities encompass:

Conducting coordination and evaluation of engineering systems, offering advice, and generating drafts.
Offering support and contributing insights on matters pertaining to coding.
Engaging in interactions with consultants, contractors, clients, and colleagues.
Monitoring project accomplishments, deliverables, and requests for modifications.
Assessing, overseeing financial records, resolving issues, and finalizing project documentation.
The task involves furnishing departments with initial and comprehensive construction estimates in response to their requests.
Facilitating the acquisition and dissemination of technical knowledge and support to shop supervisors and trades people engaged in scheduled maintenance activities.
Engaging in commissioning and handover activities in collaboration with the Operations and Maintenance personnel within the department.
Carrying out additional responsibilities as necessary.


3-5 years of experience in a design/detailing setting, with a minimum of 2 years of working with Autodesk Revit to create detailed contract documents for complex and/or renovation projects. Successful completion of an accredited 3-year Engineering Technology program with experience in building construction and contract administration. Alternatively, any equivalent combination of experience and training is acceptable. The desired candidate should possess proficient technical skills in creating drawings and providing detailed information on architectural building systems. Additionally, they should possess a thorough awareness of the NBCC 2020, exhibit a high level of professionalism, and demonstrate exceptional communication abilities. Proficiency in many software platforms, such as Microsoft Office (including MS Project), Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Autodesk AutoCAD, is highly valued. Eligibility for professional registration with AETTNL as a professional technologist is a prerequisite for candidates.


The hourly wage range for NAPE Local 7801 is between $32.92 and $38.61.
