The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships are specifically tailored for doctorate students hailing from many countries. These scholarships aim to recognize and honor individuals who have exceptional leadership skills and academic achievements in the fields of engineering, health, natural sciences, social sciences, or humanities. Recipients get an annual stipend of $50,000 for a maximum duration of three years. In order to pursue their studies, candidates are need to receive a nomination from a Canadian university.
The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS) program, named after Major-General Georges P. Vanier, the first francophone Governor General of Canada, aims to assist Canadian schools in attracting exceptionally talented PhD students.
The PhD studies are valued at $50,000 each year for a duration of three years.

Process of nomination
To be eligible to host Vanier scholars, candidates must get a nomination from a Canadian institution that has a quota. It is advisable for candidates to exclusively pursue a nomination from the educational institution they intend to attend.
The concept of a “quota” pertains to the upper limit of nominations that an institution is permitted to submit for consideration in the national competition.
