Scholarship Details:
The purpose of this scholarship is for the Faculty of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies (GPS) to provide funding and support for newly admitted graduate students whose admissions were highly ranked by their Department.

The scholarship is open to both domestic and international students who want to pursue their postgraduate degree at the University of Alberta. The incentive will cover the tuition fees and other expenses for successful applicants.

University of Alberta Entrance Scholarship 2024 Requirements

To qualify for the University of Alberta Entrance Scholarship, you must:

Newly admitted student in one of the school’s master’s or doctoral programs required.

Available to both domestic and international students

Available to students pursuing either a course-based or thesis-based program.
Admission GPA requirement is 3.7 or higher.

Must maintain full-time enrollment throughout the duration of the award
The award is valid from September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2025, regardless of the student’s admission term.

Admission is available for the following terms: January 2024, May 2024, July 2024, and September 2024.

Advantages of University of Alberta Entrance Scholarship

Stipend amounts are $17,500 for Master’s students and $21,000 for Doctoral students. Students need a Canadian bank account and Canadian address to be eligible for the award.

Domestic students will receive an extra $7,100, while international students will receive an additional $10,000 to assist with covering fees.

The funds will be allocated directly to the students’ tuition and fees account.
